Kent Municipal Court Divorce Records

Matters relating to the legal dissolution of a marriage, which is officially termed divorce or dissolution, are handled by the Portage County Domestic Relations Court, a division of the Portage County Court of Common Pleas. Divorce, dissolution, and other domestic-related matters are considered family matters and, as such, are handled under the umbrella of family law.

Divorce records, as court records, are categorized as open records under the Rules of Superintendence for the Courts of Ohio. Requests for a divorce record can be forwarded to the Office of the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas. The records are indexed by the name of either spouse or the case number. Requesters can also stop by the court in person, send a written request by mail, or use the online case search tool.
